Valve has officially launched the new multi-part event, "Dark Carnival," in Dota 2. The first chapter of the event is already available in the game. Similar to Crownfall, the content will be released in several chapters.
The event features a large-scale storyline accompanied by a comic book. Here's how the developers describe the beginning of the story:
"Hoodwink and Legion Commander awaken as prisoners aboard a circus train slowly making its way toward an unknown destination. Who could be their mysterious captor? Judging by the enormous Ringmaster-shaped face mounted on the front of the train, we can assume it's the Ringmaster. Fortunately, there are even more exciting mysteries waiting to be uncovered as you guide your favorite heroes (and Kez) toward the front of the train to confront your captors, thwart their dark schemes, and escape once and for all."
The gameplay mechanics fully replicate those of Crownfall. Players progress across a global map by earning special tokens for playing in specific regions. Some paths on the map are locked behind a paid pass.
In addition, there are hidden areas to explore, filled with secrets and side quests. A collection of secret rooms grants especially curious adventurers access to extra areas, additional rewards, and more story content.
Alongside the release of the first chapter, the developers have brought back popular features and introduced new cosmetic content:
As a reminder, FaZe have moved broky to the bench.
