In the United Kingdom, a 19-year-old man has been sentenced to 28 months in prison after being found guilty on multiple charges related to grooming and stalking a teenage girl he met while playing Roblox.
In 2024, he contacted an unnamed 14-year-old girl on Roblox, quickly gaining her trust and moving from the platform to other private messaging services. The young man sent the girl sexually explicit messages and engaged in indecent conversations. Her mother discovered the situation in August 2025 and contacted the authorities, but by then, the man had already showered the teenager with gifts, including takeaway food and a secret mobile phone.
Roblox provided a statement following the sentencing:
"Our rules strictly prohibit any child exploitation, and we have extensive safety systems in place to help prevent the exchange of images between users and to limit chat for younger users; our teams work closely with law enforcement to support investigations. While no system is perfect, we continue to evolve and strengthen our protections every day."
As a reminder, Warner Bros. and HBO recently announced the video game Game of Thrones: Dragonfire.
