Microsoft has announced another price increase for its Xbox gaming consoles, which will take effect on August 1. The information was published on the company's official website.

In addition to the price hike, the company will completely discontinue production of the Xbox Series X 2TB model.

According to the official statement, Xbox versions with 512GB of storage will become $100 more expensive, while 1TB models will see a $150 price increase. The updated pricing structure will be as follows:

  • Xbox Series S (512GB): $499.99 (previously $399.99)
  • Xbox Series S (1TB): $599.99 (previously $449.99)
  • Xbox Series X Digital: $749.99 (previously $599.99)
  • Xbox Series X: $799.99 (previously $649.99)

For comparison, when the consoles launched in 2020, the Xbox Series X was priced at $499, while the less powerful Xbox Series S cost $299.

This marks the third price increase for the devices since May 2025, with the previous adjustment having taken place in October 2025.

In an official post on the Xbox Wire blog, the company stated that it had spent several months working with suppliers to find alternative solutions. However, the cost of memory and storage components for consoles has increased by more than 2.5 times, with those expenses expected to double again by the fall of 2027.

To make consoles more affordable amid the ongoing crisis, Microsoft plans to expand the availability of installment payment plans, interest-free financing options, as well as sales of pre-owned and refurbished devices.

As a reminder, FaZe have signed JBOEN on loan until the end of 2026.
