With the start of a new season in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, players traditionally look for heroes who can help them climb the ranked ladder faster. Balance changes, updates to individual characters, and the current meta can significantly affect the effectiveness of familiar favorites.
We have compiled 25 heroes — five for each main role. The list includes characters who can be particularly useful in ranked matches thanks to their laning efficiency, mobility, damage, crowd control, or ability to independently influence the course of the game.
Mid Laners play an important role in controlling the pace of the match. They need to clear minion waves quickly, help other lanes, and create advantages during team fights. In the new season, Mages and hybrid heroes who combine high damage with mobility or crowd control remain particularly useful.
Kagura received a buff that made her umbrella movement faster. This made her combos smoother and made it more difficult for opponents to avoid her attacks.

The hero has high mobility, while her second skill allows her to cleanse herself of crowd control effects. This significantly increases her survivability during team fights.
Kagura also remains a versatile mage who can deal significant damage, provide crowd control for her team, and quickly eliminate individual targets.
Following her visual update, Kadita also received minor changes to her abilities. She combines mobility, crowd control, and very high burst damage.
One of the hero's main advantages is her immunity to crowd control while using her second skill and ultimate. This allows Kadita to both aggressively attack opponents and escape dangerous situations.

Her new passive ability also gives her 10% movement speed while she is in the river. This helps her move around the map faster and support allies on other lanes more effectively.
Eudora remains one of the stronger mages in both ranked matches and the professional scene. At the same time, recent meta changes have had little impact on her main strengths.
Her ability set allows her to deal consistent damage, apply crowd control, and quickly eliminate vulnerable opponents.

Eudora is particularly effective against mobile heroes and the main damage dealers on the opposing team.
Lunox remains a versatile mage thanks to her very complete ability set. Her first skill allows her not only to deal damage but also restore health, increasing her survivability.

The hero can effectively attack even tanks and fighters, while her ultimate in one of its modes grants immunity to enemy attacks.
Lunox becomes especially dangerous in the late game, when her damage increases significantly. However, playing her effectively requires more practice than some other mages.
Kimmy is well suited for players who want to have an independent impact on the outcome of a match. She has high mobility, crowd control, and consistent damage through her basic attacks.

The hero is particularly effective against tanks and low-mobility fighters. Her main feature is the ability to move while attacking, making it harder for opponents to catch her or force her into an unfavorable fight.
Her mobility also gives Kimmy more freedom when rotating around the map and helping the side lanes. She can constantly attack from a safe distance, while her abilities provide additional crowd control and allow her to remain useful in team fights even before the late game.
Kimmy is not the most versatile Mid Lane pick in the current meta, but she can be highly effective with the right team composition. Her combination of mobility, consistent damage, and unique attack mechanics makes her a difficult opponent to deal with in the hands of an experienced player.
Gold Lane heroes traditionally provide the team’s main source of physical damage in the later stages of the match. Reliable farming, safe positioning, and the ability to quickly destroy turrets and key enemy targets are especially important for them. This season features both proven Marksmen and heroes with more unconventional playstyles.
Karrie is particularly dangerous in the late stages of a match. Her passive ability deals true damage based on the target's HP, making her effective against tanks and other durable heroes.
At the same time, Karrie can pressure opponents during the laning phase, quickly destroy turrets, and help her team secure important objectives.

Her dash gives Karrie additional mobility and makes it easier to reposition during fights or escape dangerous situations. The combination of consistent damage, mobility, and strong effectiveness against durable opponents makes her a reliable choice for players who want to have a significant impact on the later stages of the game.
Obsidia cannot boast the strongest early game, but her late-game potential remains very high.

Her second skill provides good mobility and can be used both to chase opponents and reposition herself.
Her ultimate is particularly important, as it can cancel dashes. This makes Obsidia particularly effective against Assassins and other characters who rely on quickly closing the distance or escaping after an attack. With proper positioning and enough farm, she can become one of the team’s main sources of damage in team fights and punish opponents who rely too heavily on mobility.
Beatrix remains one of the most versatile marksmen in the game. Her four different weapons allow her to adapt to different situations and playstyles.

Her early game is particularly strong thanks to her grenade launcher, which allows her to pressure opponents during the laning phase.
At the same time, Beatrix is effective in team fights thanks to her large area of effect. Combined with her mobility, this makes her a versatile choice for the Gold Lane.
After his rework, Bruno became one of the most interesting marksmen for the Gold Lane. His updated version changed the hero's familiar playstyle and made him more comfortable to use. Even players who did not previously main Bruno can adapt to his mechanics more quickly after the changes.
The main feature of the updated Bruno is his ultimate. The hero now has an additional crowd control tool that allows him to knock an opponent back a significant distance. At the same time, his overall damage has been slightly reduced, meaning Bruno no longer relies as heavily on raw damage alone.

However, the ability to control an opponent's position opens up new possibilities for Bruno during team fights. His ultimate can be used not only to deal damage, but also to create space, split opponents apart, and control key targets.
As a result, Bruno has become less focused on pure damage after his rework, but has gained more utility for his team. His new mechanics require some adjustment, but he is an interesting option for Gold Lane players who want their marksman to provide not only damage but also additional control during fights.
Brody with a critical-damage build deserves special attention in the new season. After the changes, the hero essentially requires a different approach to gameplay, meaning even experienced Brody mains will have to rethink their usual playstyle.
Previously, Brody's main goal was to quickly stack his passive and finish the combo with his ultimate. With a critical-damage build, the focus has shifted toward basic attacks. The hero now relies much more on consistently dealing damage to the nearest target rather than quickly using his entire ability set.

This can be the biggest challenge for players who are used to the old Brody. His mechanics need to be used differently, and the familiar playstyle centered around quickly stacking his passive is no longer the only way to realize his potential.
At the same time, the situation may be easier for new players: a critical-damage build allows them to focus on proper positioning and consistent basic attacks. The faster a player adapts to this approach, the more effectively Brody can realize his potential in the Gold Lane.
The new season brings a rather unusual meta to the EXP Lane. Tanks are appearing more frequently here in tournaments, allowing teams to play around three primary damage dealers. At the same time, more dynamic fighters capable of creating plays and influencing the game independently remain viable in regular matches.
Uranus remains one of the main representatives of the tank meta on the EXP Lane. He can quickly farm minion waves and start joining team fights actively from the first minutes of the game. His main task is to constantly stay at the center of fights, absorb as many enemy abilities as possible, and protect his team's damage dealers in the process.

The hero does not require particularly complicated gameplay, but his durability allows him to create space for his team. The more resources opponents spend on Uranus, the fewer they have left for the team's marksman, mage, or assassin. Therefore, his value lies not only in his own survivability, but also in forcing enemies to spend their key abilities on a less important target.
Freya is an option for players who want to actively dominate the lane and accelerate the pace of the match.
Her early game is very strong, especially after reaching level two. The hero has high damage, crowd control, and significant mobility thanks to her dashes.

Freya is also effective at destroying turrets, while her ultimate helps her initiate team fights. During its duration, the hero gains additional durability and becomes significantly more dangerous in close-range combat.
Sora remains a viable choice for the EXP Lane thanks to his versatility.
He can switch between different forms, with each one serving a specific purpose. In his assassin form, Sora can quickly eliminate priority targets, while his tank form allows him to provide crowd control and initiate team fights.

As a result, the hero can combine high damage, durability, and crowd control.
Despite receiving changes, Paquito remains a strong option for the EXP Lane.
His main strengths are burst damage, mobility, and durability. The hero can quickly eliminate mages and marksmen, while his high damage also allows him to threaten durable opponents.

Paquito gains additional mobility through his passive ability, which allows him to reuse his skills.
Masha recently received a major update, making her presence on the list one of the more interesting options of the new season.

The new version of the hero differs significantly from the previous one. She no longer loses HP when using her abilities, while her attacks can deal area damage depending on the target's HP.
In addition, Masha received a dash that is restored after losing one of her HP bars. This increases both her mobility and survivability.
The Jungler has a direct impact on the pace of the entire map. Their responsibilities include farming the jungle, securing important objectives, and helping allied lanes. In the new season, both aggressive Assassins capable of quickly building an advantage and more versatile heroes who can remain effective in extended team fights are viable options.
Suyou is one of the most versatile assassins for ranked matches.

The hero has a strong early game, high mobility, significant damage, and good durability even when built for damage. He can actively move around the map from the first minutes and create opportunities to quickly eliminate vulnerable opponents.
Suyou is particularly well suited for players who prefer an aggressive playstyle.
Although Leomord is no longer as strong as he once was, he remains an effective choice for ranked matches.

The hero farms very quickly from the first minutes, allowing him to obtain his required items faster than his opponents.
Leomord also has mobility, damage, and crowd control, making him a versatile fighter for extended fights. His effectiveness decreases somewhat in the late game, but he can still have a significant impact on the match.
Yi Sun-shin should not be written off even after his recent nerf. In patch 2.2.16, the cooldown of his first skill was increased to reduce the frequency of his dash usage. This slightly limited his mobility but did not remove his main strengths.
Yi Sun-shin stands out thanks to his extremely fast farming speed provided by his passive ability.
If the hero gains an advantage early in the match, he can quickly increase the gold difference and gain significant control over the map.

Yi Sun-shin's main feature is his ultimate, which allows him to attack all enemies on the map and reveal their locations. For a jungler, this is a huge advantage, as the hero can control the map even when he is physically far away from the action. At the same time, Yi Sun-shin has high damage, mobility, and the ability to provide crowd control during team fights.
However, the hero remains demanding in terms of player skill. His early game is not always easy, and his effectiveness largely depends on proper ability usage and positioning. In the hands of an experienced player, Yi Sun-shin can have a major impact on the map and becomes particularly effective in the later stages of a match.
Lukas is another hero worth considering for the Jungle role. In patch 2.2.16, the developers directly stated that he had been too strong as a jungler, so he was adjusted to strengthen his presence on the EXP Lane while retaining his ability to play in the Jungle.

Following the update, Lukas received changes to his passive and abilities, including improvements to his health recovery and certain damage values. At the same time, his ultimate now charges its resource more slowly, partially limiting his tempo.
Despite this, Lukas remains a fighter with high durability and strong potential in extended fights. He can stay in combat for a long time, gradually increase his impact, and perform well in situations where he needs to survive enemy focus. According to current post-patch data, he has around a 53.9% win rate and a 57.2% ban rate in Mythic, showing significant interest in the hero in ranked matches.
Hirara is one of the most notable Jungle options in the current meta. The hero combines high damage, mobility, and complex mechanics, requiring players to have a good understanding of her abilities and quick reactions.

Her main advantage is the ability to create enormous pressure in the hands of an experienced player. Hirara can quickly move between targets, deal significant damage, and actively influence team fights. At the same time, mistakes when playing her can be costly, making the hero more suitable for players willing to spend time mastering her mechanics.
Her popularity is also evident on the professional scene: in the current MPL Malaysia S18 data, Hirara has 57 picks and 43 bans, while global statistics for the current patch show her as one of the most frequently selected junglers among professional teams.
Therefore, if Hirara remains available during the draft, she is a hero worth considering when building a team composition. Her high potential is especially noticeable in the hands of a player who has mastered her mechanics and can use her mobility to maintain constant pressure across the map.
The Roam role is largely responsible for team coordination. The Roamer provides vision, helps teammates, creates opportunities for initiation, and protects the team’s key heroes. This season, characters with strong crowd control, high durability, and the ability to quickly respond to enemy plays remain particularly valuable.
Belerick can create problems for opponents throughout the entire match.

His passive ability allows him to return part of the damage he receives to his attackers, while his high durability allows him to remain in fights for a long time.
The hero also has significant crowd control and is well suited for zoning around important objectives. He can be particularly effective against marksmen who rely on high attack speed.
Atlas remains one of the most reliable tanks for the Roam role, especially in ranked matches. His main strengths are a combination of good mobility, durability, and the ability to provide a significant amount of information for his team from the early stages of the game. Thanks to his abilities, Atlas can actively move around the map and help his allies control important areas.

Atlas does not necessarily need to wait for his ultimate to control opponents effectively. His abilities allow him to create problems for enemies even without his main tool, while his durability allows him to remain in the center of fights for a long time. At the same time, his ultimate remains his key ability: it allows him to gather multiple enemies, reposition them, and knock them up, creating excellent conditions for a team-wide attack.
It is especially important that the knock-up can interrupt a significant number of enemy abilities. This makes Atlas' ultimate useful not only for initiating fights, but also for disrupting key enemy casts. Therefore, the hero combines the roles of initiator and tank, allowing him to absorb damage while simultaneously creating opportunities for his team.
Because of this, Atlas remains an effective tank for creating plays for his team, and considering the update on the test server that would allow two of his parts to act during his ultimate, he could become an even stronger Roam pick.
Khufra has also become more relevant due to the popularity of assassins in the Jungle. His main advantage against these heroes is his ability to effectively stop their escape attempts and mobility tools. This allows Khufra to significantly limit the options of heroes who rely on dashes and fast movement during fights.

At the same time, the tank is capable not only of absorbing large amounts of damage but also of dealing significant damage in return. Thanks to his passive ability and the right build, Khufra can quickly stack defensive effects and remain alive in the middle of a fight. This allows him to pressure opponents for longer and create space for his team.
However, Khufra's main reasons for being picked remain his initiation and crowd control. His first skill allows him to engage enemies unexpectedly, while his ultimate can control multiple opponents at once. Combined with the current assassin-heavy Jungle meta, this makes Khufra a particularly useful Roam who can both initiate team fights and prevent key enemy heroes from realizing their full potential.
Minotaur remains a strong Roam option thanks to his powerful area-of-effect crowd control and ability to effectively initiate team fights. His ultimate can completely change the course of a battle if used at the right moment and against multiple opponents.

At the same time, the hero's effectiveness depends heavily on the correct build. Minotaur can heal his allies, but that does not mean his entire build should be centered around healing. The main focus should remain on his role as a tank and initiator who creates space for the team and provides crowd control.
Therefore, Minotaur performs best when used as a full-fledged frontline hero: he enters the fight, provides mass crowd control, absorbs damage, and gives his damage dealers time to attack. His healing is a useful additional tool, but not the main reason to pick him. With the right approach, Minotaur remains a highly useful Roam for teams that need reliable initiation and strong crowd control.
Kalea has become noticeably stronger after the latest patch and is now an even more interesting option for the Roam role. The buffs improved her durability and damage, while her main advantage — the strong crowd control provided by her ultimate — remains intact. As a result, Kalea has become more consistent in fights and has gained more opportunities to influence battles.

She fits particularly well into the current meta due to the popularity of assassins in the Jungle. When opponents rely heavily on heroes trying to quickly reach the backline, single-target crowd control becomes especially important. This is where Kalea can excel: instead of constantly looking for an initiation, she can stay near her marksman and wait for an enemy assassin to dive into the fight.
At the same time, Kalea works well even in regular ranked matches, where team coordination is not always perfect. First, she can test how willing her teammates are to follow her initiations. If the team actively follows up, Kalea can start the fight herself. If not, she can simply stay near the main damage dealer and use her ultimate on an enemy assassin attempting to attack them. After that crowd control, her allies only need to finish the target.
The new Mobile Legends: Bang Bang season could significantly change players' priorities in ranked matches. Some heroes have received buffs or reworks, while others remain effective thanks to their core characteristics and versatility.
The list above includes five heroes for each role, from mobile assassins and powerful marksmen to durable tanks and versatile mages. At the same time, choosing the right hero is only one part of climbing the ranked ladder — understanding your role, proper positioning, and the ability to work with your team are equally important.
