In the fourth quarter of 2026, MOONTON Games will officially launch the MLBB Championship Tour Southeast Asia (MCT SEA). This event will mark the next stage in the globalization of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports ecosystem, uniting the region's best non-franchised teams in a unified struggle to qualify for the world championship — the M8 World Championship.

Southeast Asia has become the third of five regions in the new MCT system, joining the already completed cycles in North and South America (AMER) and East Asia (EA). The launch of the tournament is timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of MLBB in September, symbolizing the game's evolution from a local project into a global phenomenon. According to Dylan Chia, MOONTON's Head of Esports in Southeast Asia, MCT SEA will give young teams a chance to prove themselves on the international stage and show what the region is capable of.
In the first season of MCT SEA, 12 teams from 11 countries will compete. The group stage will take place on December 9–10:
The top two teams from Groups A, B, and C will advance automatically. The third-placed teams will play in the Last Chance Qualifier on December 10 for the final slot.
The playoff stage will take place on December 11–13. In addition to a prize pool of $50,000 USD and the first-ever MCT SEA cup, teams will battle for a spot on the international stage:

The expansion of the tournament bracket takes place against the backdrop of the discipline's record-breaking success. The previous world championship (M7) became the most popular mobile tournament in history, gathering over 5.68 million peak viewers and generating 158 million euros in partner value with the support of brands like Red Bull, Visa, and the NBA.
