NAVI and Team Liquid ID became the winners of the second round of the MPL Indonesia Season 18 playoffs and will face each other in the upper-bracket final on November 6. The winner of this match will not only advance to the Grand Final but also guarantee a spot at the M8 World Championship.
Meanwhile, Alter Ego and Bigetron by Vitality will face each other in the lower-bracket semifinal. The winner of this match will continue the fight for the second spot at M8, while the losing team will end its run at the tournament.
The first round of the playoffs took place on November 4. Alter Ego started its postseason run with a 3:1 victory over ONIC. Thanks to this, the team earned the opportunity to face NAVI in the next round.
In the other match, Bigetron by Vitality defeated EVOS — 3:2. Thus, Bigetron advanced and earned a spot in the match against Team Liquid ID.
For ONIC and EVOS, these defeats marked the end of their run at MPL Indonesia Season 18. Both teams shared fifth place.
On November 5, NAVI faced Alter Ego in the second round of the upper bracket. The Ukrainian organization secured a 3:1 victory and advanced to the upper-bracket final.
Thus, NAVI are now one match away from the Grand Final. A victory in the next series will guarantee the team a place in the decisive match of the season and automatically secure a spot at the M8 World Championship.
For Alter Ego, the defeat did not mean the end of the tournament. The team dropped to the lower bracket, where it received another chance to continue the fight.
In the second match of the day, Team Liquid ID faced Bigetron by Vitality and won 3:1.
Like NAVI, Team Liquid ID are now one step away from the Grand Final and a spot at M8. The team that wins the head-to-head meeting with NAVI will guarantee at least second place at MPL Indonesia Season 18.
After the defeat, Bigetron dropped to the lower bracket, where it will face Alter Ego on November 6.

At 08:00 Kyiv time, Alter Ego will face Bigetron by Vitality in the lower-bracket semifinal. The series will be played in a Best of 5 format. The winner will remain in contention for the championship title and M8, while the losing team will end its tournament run.
At 13:00 Kyiv time, the upper-bracket final — NAVI vs Team Liquid ID — will begin. The winner of this series will advance to the Grand Final and guarantee a spot at the M8 World Championship.
The losing team will not be eliminated from the tournament. It will drop to the lower bracket and have another chance to reach the Grand Final.
Thus, on November 6, NAVI can take the final step toward M8. A victory over Team Liquid ID will guarantee the Ukrainian organization a place in the Grand Final and a spot at the World Championship. Meanwhile, the second spot will be decided on November 7 in the lower-bracket final.
