He suggests that the game is likely being built from scratch using Unreal Engine 5, which means it may take time before any official announcement is made. Matheus also noted that 2K Sports typically announces its projects closer to release.
2K Sports has extensive experience in developing sports video game franchises. The company is behind NBA 2K, WWE 2K, PGA Tour 2K, and Top Spin. Therefore, its ambition to create a football simulator seems quite natural. However, this information should still be treated with some skepticism until an official announcement is made.
