At the Insider Gaming Showcase, developers from Royston Cinemo unveiled a new teaser and additional details for their upcoming game Project Madras. The game features a rare setting for the industry — an authentic depiction of India, blending familiar open-world crime mechanics inspired by the GTA series with a distinct cultural identity.
The narrative is built around the concept of a double life. The player takes on the role of a government agent who infiltrates a criminal network. By completing contracts, side jobs, and missions, the protagonist must build reputation and influence within a large urban environment.
The developers describe the game as a “celebration of Indian culture, language, emotions, and spirit,” emphasizing its focus on authenticity and atmosphere.
As a reminder, recent reports noted that price cuts for Game Pass have led to renewed subscriber growth for Xbox.
