A brand-new gameplay trailer for the crime strategy game Becoming Pablo was revealed during the Insider Gaming Showcase. The game is scheduled for release later this year.

The project puts players in charge of building and managing a criminal empire. While the developers never explicitly mention him by name, the game is clearly inspired by the story of Pablo Escobar, one of the most notorious drug traffickers in history.

Key Features

  • Grand Strategy Gameplay — Expand the cartel’s influence, forge alliances, and use bribery and blackmail to strengthen your position.
  • Turn-Based Battles — Engage in tactical conflicts over territories and resources, drawing inspiration from classic board games such as Risk.
  • Economic Tycoon Management — Oversee every aspect of the organization, from production facilities to distribution networks.
  • Base Defense — Protect your territories from rival cartels and law enforcement operations.
  • Historical Setting — Experience a world inspired by the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, capturing the atmosphere of the era dominated by some of the world's most wanted criminals.

As a reminder, developers from Royston Cinemo recently showcased Project Madras, an open-world action game set in a culturally rich depiction of India.
