Things appear to be getting worse for British developer Ninja Theory. In the summer, reports emerged that Xbox was looking to sell the studio behind the Hellblade series. By the end of September, however, it was reported that two potential deals had fallen through, leaving Ninja Theory at risk of closure.
At the time, media reports claimed that Xbox had around six weeks to decide the fate of the studio. It now appears that while the company is waiting for a final decision, Ninja Theory has already begun carrying out significant layoffs.

The studio has not officially announced the cuts, but several employees have already reported losing their jobs, including:
The number of audio specialists reportedly affected is particularly notable. Sound design has traditionally been an important part of Ninja Theory’s games, making these layoffs potentially significant for the studio’s future projects.
If the situation does not change, the recently announced Senua could end up being abandoned, much like the horror project Project Mara before it. The Senua announcement was reportedly intended to attract potential investors and buyers to Ninja Theory, but it appears that the plan did not work.
