French esports organization Gentle Mates has officially announced its withdrawal from Counter-Strike and the termination of support for its Spanish roster. The players have already returned to the Iberian Soul tag to compete in the open LAN qualifier for the Esports World Cup.
The organization signed the Spanish roster in 2025. The squad actively competed in the Tier-2 scene and held strong positions in the VRS rankings early in the season; however, a period of inactivity followed by poor performances at key tournaments cost them a spot at IEM Cologne.
During their time under the Gentle Mates (M8s) banner, the team achieved a number of notable results:
Despite success at the Tier-2 level, the roster failed to establish a foothold at the top tier, exiting during the group stages of PGL Astana, IEM Rio, ESL Pro League, and PGL Bucharest.
During the off-season, the team lost several members: Antonio "MartinezSa" Martinez transferred to HEROIC, while former captain Eloy "deLonge" Suárez entered free agency.
Currently, the team is competing under the Iberian Soul tag alongside stand-in Joey "CRUC1AL" Steusel and coach Daniel "djL" Narancic.
