Japanese music duo YOASOBI and the developers of Overwatch have released the official music video for "Orion," a collaboration that explores the shared history and family ties between Genji, Hanzo, and Kiriko. The video is inspired by E. C. Myers' short story "The Sparrow's Fall" and shows that, despite years apart, the bond between the three characters remains strong.

The song "Orion" is written from Kiriko's perspective as she reflects on the relationship between the Shimada brothers. Its title references Orion's Belt, the three-star asterism that symbolizes the trio of heroes.

The music video's story ties directly into Overwatch's current lore. In the narrative, Genji travels to Tokyo to investigate the Hashimoto syndicate after discovering that its weapons use technology similar to that of his sword. The weapons were created by Toshiro, Kiriko's father, who is currently being held captive by the Hashimoto.

After confronting the syndicate, Genji intentionally allows himself to be captured in order to gather intelligence. Hanzo, Kiriko, and the newly reunited Overwatch team then launch a rescue mission to free him.

The final stage of the operation takes place on the game's newest map, Neon Junction. Alongside the music video, Blizzard has launched two in-game events—Overwatch x YOASOBI and Anima Strike—giving players the opportunity to unlock exclusive cosmetics and skins.

Earlier, Nintendo confirmed that it has no plans to abandon physical editions of its games.
