Blizzard has released an update for Overwatch focused on testing 6v6 gameplay balance as part of the Quick Play Hacked event. The experimental mode will run from July 30 through August 2 and will apply to Open Queue throughout the weekend.

The main general feature is a significant reduction in the global in-combat healing penalty—it has been lowered from 30% to 15%. In addition, the developers adjusted the tank passive regarding ultimate charge reduction and nerfed the passive effects for several subroles: bruisers, initiators, flankers, and medics.

Changes also directly affected tanks. Several heroes in this role received reduced cooldowns for defensive abilities, though the duration of some was decreased at the same time.

Heroes receiving balance adjustments in this patch include:

  • Domina;
  • Doomfist;
  • Hazard;
  • Mauga;
  • Ramattra.
