An incident involving a cosplayer took place at Trinity Bellwoods Park during the Anime Connects Cherry Blossom Picnic. A man dressed in full tactical gear resembling a mercenary from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise was detained by police due to carrying a replica rifle.
The appearance of the man with what turned out to be a prop weapon caused panic among park visitors. After multiple calls reporting a person with a firearm, several police units arrived at the scene.
In a video that spread online, officers can be seen approaching the cosplayer. He immediately surrendered and cooperated with law enforcement.
The incident ended peacefully. Police showed understanding, and the man was released without charges.
