Retroid has introduced the Duo Lite+, a new handheld gaming console built around the company's dual screen clamshell design. The device sits between the Duo Lite and the flagship Duo, combining more powerful hardware with a lower price than the top model.
The main upgrade over the standard Duo Lite is the new Dragonwing Q-7790 platform. The console features an eight core processor clocked at 2.8 GHz and an Adreno 722 GPU running at 1.15 GHz. The base Duo Lite, by comparison, uses the less powerful Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS6125. The hardware upgrade should give the console more performance for modern Android games and emulators.
The Duo Lite+ retains the same clamshell design with two displays. It has a 5.5 inch main LCD and a 4.2 inch secondary screen, with both panels supporting a 60 Hz refresh rate.
The console is equipped with a 6000 mAh battery and an active cooling system to help maintain stable performance during demanding workloads. However, the combination of two displays and more powerful hardware is also expected to consume more power.
The Duo Lite+ weighs 372 g.
The handheld comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.
Retroid has priced the Duo Lite+ at $220 (9800 UAH). This makes it $70 more expensive than the Duo Lite, which starts at $150 (6700 UAH), but $50 cheaper than the flagship Duo, priced at $270 (12000 UAH).
The Duo Lite+ therefore serves as a middle option in Retroid's lineup, offering hardware closer to the flagship model while remaining more affordable.
