In May 2025, Riot Games announced that it was conducting an investigation into “one of the participants” over allegations of sexual assault. Although the name was not initially disclosed, Ava “florescent” Eugene later confirmed that the accusations were about her, firmly denying them.

On March 30, 2026, Riot Games stated that, following the investigation, no disciplinary action would be taken against Ava “florescent” Eugene. The company said: “This was a private matter, and there was insufficient evidence to confirm a violation of the Global Code of Conduct.”

The decision sparked a wave of backlash among fans, who began comparing the situation to the case of Jay “Sinatraa” Won. Many argue that Riot treated florescent more leniently because she is a transgender woman.

However, Jay “Sinatraa” Won was never permanently banned. He was suspended for only six months—and not for the allegations themselves, but for refusing to cooperate with the investigation and for providing misleading statements. He has been eligible to compete again for several years, but no professional team has signed him due to reputational risks.

As a reminder, Eidos Montreal canceled the game Wildlands, which had been in development for over seven years and cost hundreds of millions of dollars.
