Multiple sources suggest that Xbox could be preparing a small digital showcase set to take place in the next few days. Even without this event, fans already have plenty to anticipate, as a wide range of titles from both first-party studios and partners are scheduled for release on Xbox Series X/S before the end of 2026.
The next major Xbox release is just around the corner. Forza Horizon 6 launches on May 19 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. Its predecessor was a major success, and early impressions of the new installment are positive. Years after its debut, Forza Horizon 5 also arrived on PlayStation 5 last April and quickly found an audience. This time, PlayStation users will not have to wait long, as Forza Horizon 6 is expected to release on PS5 later this year.
The rumored showcase was discussed in a recent episode of the Septic Sauce podcast. Insider Jez Corden said Xbox might have something planned for next week. When asked whether it could be tied to the rumored April PlayStation State of Play, he clarified that it would be their own show aimed at gamers in general. Tom Warren later echoed this on Twitter, suggesting that fans should expect an ID@Xbox presentation focused on indie titles across Xbox Series X/S and other platforms.
While the event has not been officially confirmed, the consistency of these reports suggests an announcement could be imminent. A smaller showcase would make sense given that the major Xbox Games Showcase is already scheduled for June 7, meaning big announcements are likely being saved for that date.
Even if updates on AAA titles like Gears of War: E-Day or Fable are unlikely, an indie-focused show could still generate excitement. Indie games remain a key part of Game Pass, often launching on the service day one. Such events typically feature brand-new reveals as well as updates on previously announced projects.
At the same time, Xbox is entering a new phase. Asha Sharma replaced Phil Spencer earlier this year, alongside other internal changes. It is still unclear how this leadership shift will shape the company and what lies ahead for the system known as Project Helix. The coming months should offer a clearer picture of Xbox’s future direction.
