Sony and Bandai Namco are joining forces to implement cutting-edge technologies in game development and expand Japanese intellectual properties (IP). As part of the collaboration, the companies will invest 10 billion yen into the Gaudiy platform.
According to recent reports, Sony has been actively exploring the potential of generative artificial intelligence to optimize creative processes. The new initiative, developed in partnership with Bandai Namco, aims to determine how technology can most effectively support creators’ visions.
However, the companies emphasized that the role of creators will remain unchanged as AI technology evolves, stating that “the vision, design, and emotional impact of our games will always come from the talent of our studios and creators.” AI will support their work rather than replace them.
The goal is to make artificial intelligence a “consumer-oriented experience” capable of identifying things such as the next game a player might enjoy, as well as the next in-game moment, subscription, accessory, or merchandise item that best reflects their interests beyond the storefront.
