South Korea Wins Overwatch World Cup 2026

In the Overwatch World Cup 2026 Grand Final, the South Korean national team defeated Saudi Arabia with a 2-1 scoreline. The tournament's decisive stage took place on September 12–13 at BlizzCon 2026 in Anaheim, California.

The competition kicked off with a Group Stage held from August 19 to August 23 in Busan, South Korea. Sixteen national teams participated, split into four groups. Following the round-robin matches, the top two teams from each group advanced to the single-elimination playoff bracket: Saudi Arabia, Spain, Germany, Sweden, the United States, South Korea, France, and Australia.

In the Quarterfinals on September 12, Saudi Arabia defeated Spain (3-1), Sweden swept Germany (3-0), South Korea convincingly beat the United States (3-0), and France eliminated Australia (3-0).

In the Semifinals on September 13, Saudi Arabia swept Sweden (3-0), while South Korea prevailed over France in an intense 3-2 series. In the third-place match, France defeated Sweden 3-1. In the Grand Final, the South Koreans secured the ultimate 2-1 victory.

The exact prize pool for Overwatch World Cup 2026 has not been disclosed yet, but teams will receive financial support through sales of special in-game crowdfunding bundles.

This title marks South Korea's fourth championship win in history, having previously lifted the trophy in 2016, 2017, and 2018. The only other trophy holders from past years are the United States (2019) and Saudi Arabia (2023).
