According to Insider Gaming, the next project from 1047 Games — currently titled Empulse — is set to be a spiritual successor to the cult shooter Titanfall.
Journalist Tom Henderson reportedly received exclusive pre-alpha gameplay footage under NDA. The video showcases intense Team Deathmatch combat, where players actively use grappling hooks, wall-running, and speed-boost platforms to move rapidly across the map.
One of the most notable features is the presence of giant mechanical robots (mechs) scattered across the map, visually reminiscent of the Titans from the Titanfall series. The footage shows a player using a grappling hook to enter one of the mechs and dominate the match using a Gatling gun as the primary weapon.
Earlier this year, 1047 Games CEO Ian Proulx stated that a small internal team was working on a new fast-paced shooter inspired by both Titanfall and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
Empulse is currently in pre-alpha, with no confirmed release date. However, an official announcement is expected later this year.
As a reminder, there are also reports that Subnautica 2 may permanently remove one of its key mechanics.
