According to Alinea Analytics, Steam’s gross revenue reached $15 billion between January and August 2026. That is roughly 15% more than during the same period in 2025 and already surpasses the platform’s total for all of 2023.

New 2026 releases accounted for just $2.4 billion, or 15.9% of Steam’s total revenue so far. The rest continues to come from older hits that have been selling for years.

Analysts expect Steam to surpass $20 billion in gross revenue for the first time by the end of 2026.

The biggest new releases by revenue include Forza Horizon 6, Crimson Desert, Resident Evil Requiem, Slay the Spire 2, Subnautica 2, and Meccha Chameleon. Together, they have generated nearly $1 billion, or around 6.6% of Steam’s total revenue this year.
