T1 are seriously considering entering the Counter-Strike scene. This was revealed by the organization’s COO Josh Woongki Ahn during a meeting of Esports World Cup partner organizations. According to the T1 executive, participation in the Esports World Cup Foundation program allows the club to diversify its rosters and attract new partners who now see T1 as more than just a League of Legends organization. Because of this, the Korean giant is considering a return to Dota 2, as well as a potential debut in Counter-Strike, a title where the organization has never previously fielded a full international roster.

One of T1’s main goals is to expand its global brand and increase the organization’s valuation to $1 billion. Entering the Counter-Strike scene could become a key step toward that objective, as the discipline remains one of the biggest esports titles in the world with a massive international audience.

A special role in promoting T1’s new directions will be given to Lee Sang-hyeok, the legendary League of Legends player is expected to help attract new audiences to the organization’s other rosters.

As a reminder, The Luminosity organization may return to CS
