Bethesda continues expanding its presence on Nintendo Switch 2. Recently, the company released Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for the new console, while a native version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was previously made available on the platform.
Now Bethesda has announced the release date for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2. The game will launch on August 11, with players able to choose between a digital or physical edition priced at $50. The announcement was also accompanied by a special trailer.
Oblivion Remastered originally launched in April 2025. From a visual perspective, the project can be considered a remake, as Virtuos rebuilt the entire graphical presentation from scratch using Unreal Engine 5. However, the level design, world structure, and core mechanics remain based on the original engine.
The edition includes the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions, along with several smaller DLC additions. The game received mixed reactions from players, with many praising its updated visuals while also criticizing the fact that the remaster keeps many of the original Oblivion’s flaws and even some bugs from the 2006 release.
