The First Global Fortnite Reload Elite Series 2026 Championship Kicks Off Tomorrow in Paris

Tomorrow, August 19, 2026, marks the beginning of the first-ever global championship in the Fortnite Reload mode — the Reload Elite Series 2026 - Championship. The massive S-Tier offline event will run until August 22 and bring together 40 teams competing for a total prize pool of $1,025,000 USD. The tournament will be hosted at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles (Qiddiya City Grid) exhibition center.

The competition is organized by Epic Games, Esports Foundation, and ESL FACEIT Group. The championship is part of the Esports World Cup lineup, as announced late last year. Interestingly, the event was originally planned to be hosted in Riyadh, but a decision was made in May to move the tournament to the French capital.

The tournament will be played on two maps — Slurp Rush and Elite Stronghold. The competition is divided into three key stages:

• Group Stage (August 19–20): 40 teams will be divided into two groups, playing 10 matches each. The top 7 teams from each group will advance directly to the Finals. Teams placing 8th to 17th will drop to the Survival Stage, while the bottom 3 teams from each group will be eliminated from the tournament.
• Survival Stage (August 21): 20 teams will play 10 matches to score the maximum number of points. Only the top 6 teams will advance to the Finals, while the remaining 14 will be eliminated.
• Finals (August 22): The 20 finalists will compete in the Match Point format (15 games maximum). To claim the championship title, a team must first hit 350 points and then win a match (secure a Victory Royale).

The prize pool distribution includes not only cash rewards but also EWC Club Points. The tournament winners will receive the grand prize of $260,000 and 1,000 points. The runner-up team will take home $150,000 and 750 points. A separate award of $25,000 is allocated for the tournament's best player.

A total of 80 esports athletes will participate in the championship. The United States has the highest representation at the tournament (20% of the players), followed by Australia (11%) and Japan (10%).

All Fortnite Esports World Cup 2026 matches will be broadcast live on the tournament's official YouTube channel.
