Troy Baker, the voice of Joel in The Last of Us, has shared his thoughts on a possible The Last of Us Part III, suggesting the next game could tell a story that no one expects.

During a recent interview, Baker was asked whether he would like to see a prequel focusing on Joel and Tommy during the early years of the outbreak. The actor said he would be happy with any direction the series takes.

«I would be on board with anything. If Neil decides that he has a place for me, then I've learned at this point to listen to him, because he's really smart».

Baker also pointed out that the next installment may go in a completely different direction than fans anticipate.

«I've also learned to trust Naughty Dog, and maybe there's a whole other story there that we're not thinking about».

He added that the future of the franchise is entirely up to Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog, whether that means revisiting the past, continuing the existing storyline, or reinventing the series with something entirely new.

For now, Naughty Dog remains focused on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophecy, meaning official news about The Last of Us Part III is likely still some time away.
