The upcoming The Legend of Zelda film has moved closer to release with a behind-the-scenes reveal of Link in his full costume, which also marks the end of filming. The tease quickly caught fans’ attention, offering the clearest look yet at the hero’s iconic green tunic. While the image may seem minor, it has already sparked widespread discussion online.

For decades, Link has been closely associated with his green tunic, cap, sword, and shield. Although recent titles like Breath of the Wild introduced new variations of his appearance, the classic design remains the most recognizable. The film is scheduled to premiere in May 2027, and expectations are high for this adaptation of Nintendo’s legendary franchise. So far, this first full look is an encouraging sign for fans.

Nintendo officially confirmed development of a live-action Legend of Zelda movie in 2023. The project is directed by Wes Ball, known for Maze Runner and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Bo Bragason as Link and Zelda. The story will follow Link as he embarks on a dangerous quest to protect Hyrule from the evil Ganon.

Filming began in November 2025 in Wellington, New Zealand, and wrapped in April. Cinematographer Gyula Pados shared an Instagram post featuring a clapperboard and a look at Link’s full outfit to mark the end of production. Fans had previously seen an early teaser in November 2025 when Nintendo revealed the first look at the main duo.

This latest reveal provides the first detailed look at Link’s textured tunic, seemingly inspired by Twilight Princess, along with a cream under-shirt, fingerless gloves, and brown cross-body straps. The filmmakers appear committed to faithfully recreating the iconic hero’s design, which has given fans optimism about the film’s overall aesthetic, even as some debate the decision to give Link dialogue.

The project carries both excitement and pressure. Successful adaptations like The Last of Us and Fallout have restored audience confidence in the genre, and everything shown so far suggests that The Legend of Zelda will stay true to the spirit of the games.

As a Reminder, NAVI Junior advance to the upper bracket semifinals of VALORANT Challengers 2026 NORTH//EAST: Stage 2.
