The series based on the cult franchise Mass Effect, currently being developed by Amazon MGM Studios, aims to attract an audience far broader than just video game fans.

Peter Friedlander, head of the television division at Amazon MGM Studios, said in a conversation with The Ankler that he is currently working on reviewing the scripts. He emphasized that the series is being developed in a way that makes it accessible and understandable for people who have never played the games in the series.

The creators are ориентing themselves on the success of projects such as Fallout (Prime Video) and The Last of Us (HBO). These series demonstrated that game adaptations can become global hits if they present complex lore in a way that is easy for viewers without prior experience to understand.

Last year, the head of Mass Effect projects at BioWare, Michael Gamble, explained that the series will not repeat the plot of the original game trilogy. Commander Shepard will not appear in it. Instead, viewers will be presented with an original story set after the trilogy that began in 2007.

As a reminder, McDonald’s launched a “gamer menu” with an anti-AFK device in Turkey.
