The free Remastered update has brought thousands of players back to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt 11 years after its original launch. According to SteamDB, the game reached a new series record of 120,975 concurrent players on Steam following the update.
The previous peak was recorded on January 5, 2020, when The Witcher 3 reached 103,329 concurrent players shortly after Netflix premiered the first season of The Witcher. For comparison, the game peaked at around 92,000 concurrent Steam players when it originally launched in 2015.
The Remastered version is also available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and the Microsoft Store. However, these platforms do not provide the same publicly available player statistics, making it difficult to measure the full scale of the comeback.
Geralt’s next major adventure is already on the horizon, with the Songs of the Past expansion scheduled to arrive in 2027.
