Twitch has announced a new artificial intelligence-powered feature during TwitchCon Europe 2026 in Rotterdam that will help viewers quickly catch up on what happened in a stream before they joined.

The tool generates a concise AI-powered summary of the broadcast, allowing users to jump straight into the action without feeling like they have missed important context. The technology was unveiled on May 30 during the event's opening ceremony, hosted by Mary Kish and Twitch CEO Dan Clancy.

Company representatives stated that Twitch will continue experimenting with both the format and the amount of information provided in these text-based summaries as the feature rolls out.

The AI recap feature was announced alongside a wave of other platform updates, including:

  • 2K streaming support for members of the Partner and Affiliate programs.
  • Dual-format vertical video support for users of Twitch's mobile applications.
  • Automatic highlight generation, powered by chat activity analysis and changes in the streamer's vocal tone.

In addition, organizers officially confirmed during the ceremony that TwitchCon Europe 2027 will take place in Berlin. The event is scheduled for May 22–23, 2027.

As a reminder, Team Liquid player Nisha recently found himself at the center of a controversy.
