Chinese rosters TYLOO and Xi Lai Gaming (XLG) became the first teams to leave the international VALORANT Champions Shanghai tournament. On October 1, both teams suffered defeats in their opening elimination matches against Team Liquid and Nongshim RedForce, respectively, concluding their tournament runs.

Team Liquid defeated TYLOO 2-1 following an absolute rout on the decider map. The series kicked off on Split with a victory for the European squad (13-8), after which TYLOO bounced back on Summit (13-7), showcasing a flawless defensive half where they won every round. However, on the final map, Lotus, the European team completely seized the initiative, racing to a 12-0 lead and confidently closing out the game 13-2.

Meanwhile, Nongshim RedForce eliminated XLG in a much more fiercely contested matchup. The South Korean squad secured a 2-0 sweep, though both maps—Summit and Sunset—ended with identical narrow margins in favor of NS (13-11). This result allowed Nongshim RedForce to stay alive in the tournament.

The next round of the group stage, scheduled for October 3, will feature decisive matches for the final playoff spots. In Group C, Team Liquid will face G2 Esports. Previously, G2 swept TYLOO (2-0), while Liquid fell to Paper Rex prior to their triumph in the elimination match. In Group D, Nongshim RedForce will clash with the EMEA regional champions, Karmine Corp. Both teams previously suffered losses to NRG (KC fell in the upper bracket final, and NS dropped their opening match), but they retain their chances of advancing to the next stage. The winners of these two matchups will proceed to the playoffs.
