NetEase Games has officially unveiled The Hood as the next playable character coming to Marvel Rivals. The new hero will join the roster on August 7 with the launch of the Season 9.5 mid season update, becoming the game's 53rd playable character.
The Hood is a Vanguard tank who combines dual pistol gunplay with dark magic. He can create protective barriers for teammates and unleash magical attacks, while his Ultimate Ability transforms him into a massive Gun Demon capable of firing powerful rounds that pierce both shields and enemies while granting nearby allies bonus health.
«Parker lays down relentless frontal cover fire with his twin pistols. Utilizing his mystical cloak he can channel the chaotic energy of Oblivion, and manifest protective shields for his allies, while hurling dark magic orbs that warp into barriers, sapping the strength of incoming enemy fire. For his Ultimate Ability, The Hood fully surrenders to the darkness, entering Full Demon State, transforming into a fully realized Gun Demon, using high impact piercing rounds that completely punch through shields and enemies alike, all while radiating dark energy that grants bonus health to nearby teammates!»
The update will also significantly reduce the game's storage requirements. The PC version will shrink by around 40 GB, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players will save approximately 15 GB of disk space.
