Ubisoft recently confirmed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a remake that quickly drew attention from players and received plenty of positive feedback. The strong reception suggests the company might not stop at just one project.
According to new reports, a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed is already in development. The information allegedly comes from a Ubisoft employee, although specific details remain scarce. Insider j0nathan on X also mentioned the project, citing an internal source.
The first Assassin’s Creed is considered the most obvious candidate for a remake. It launched the iconic franchise but has significantly aged both technically and in terms of gameplay. If the remake happens, it will likely be rebuilt on a modern engine, with an expanded narrative and improved side activities that were previously seen as a weak point.
The original title lacked DLC and multiplayer features and featured a relatively small map compared to later entries. This could make the remake easier to develop, though the future of the project will likely depend on the success of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

The leak also aligns with earlier rumors suggesting Ubisoft already has at least one Assassin’s Creed remake in the works. At the same time, the company may continue taking a cautious approach to such projects, especially regarding features like DLC and multiplayer.
Despite the lack of official confirmation, interest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is already evident. Within just two days of its announcement, the game gained nearly 30,000 followers on Steam, highlighting strong audience engagement.

As a Reminder, Assassin’s Creed Hexe shifts toward realism.
