Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios have announced the opening of the world's first large-scale Minecraft-themed zone in the United Kingdom, with an investment of £50 million.
The opening is scheduled for 2027 at the Chessington World of Adventures theme park. The "Minecraft World" location will feature Minecraft-styled roller coasters, themed food and beverages, interactive adventures, and block-based playgrounds. The world's largest Minecraft merchandise store has also been announced.
In an official statement, Merlin noted that this project is among the most ambitious they have undertaken in recent years.
