Valve has revealed the pricing, available configurations, and purchasing process for its new gaming system, the Steam Machine. The starting price for the base model will be $1,049.
In the company's official blog, four versions of the console were presented, differing in storage capacity and whether they include the proprietary Steam Controller. A special feature of the more expensive 2TB models is the inclusion of two additional interchangeable front panels: one made of red fabric and another crafted from walnut wood.

The device will be sold through a special queue system. To become eligible to purchase a Steam Machine, users must register and select their preferred model by Thursday, June 25, at 7:00 a.m. Pacific Time. After the deadline, Valve will conduct a one-time random sorting of applications, which will determine the purchasing order.
The first wave of Steam Machine orders will begin shipping on June 29.
