Valve has released the latest stable version of Proton, 11.0-2, making it available to all users. The update fixes dozens of compatibility issues affecting games on Linux and SteamOS, while also adding official support for nine new titles. Another seven games have been added to Proton Experimental.
Proton is Valve’s compatibility layer that allows Windows games to run on Linux. It enables SteamOS devices such as the Steam Deck to run the majority of modern PC games.
The new release also addresses problems affecting several major titles. Proton 11.0-2 includes fixes for games such as Marvel Rivals, Diablo IV, Hitman World of Assassination, Forza 6, Helldivers 2 and others. Some of these games had experienced crashes and other issues following recent patches.

Seven additional games have been added to Proton Experimental. Their compatibility is expected to eventually arrive in a future stable Proton release:
SteamOS users can enable Proton Experimental on a per-game basis through the game’s properties. Find the desired title, open Properties, go to Compatibility, select Force The Use of Specific Steam Play Compatibility Tool, and choose Proton Experimental.
Proton Experimental can also be enabled system-wide. To do so, press the Steam button, open Settings, go to System, and turn on Enable Developer Mode.
