Victor Wembanyama, the young superstar of the San Antonio Spurs, has been selected as the cover athlete for the upcoming basketball simulation game NBA 2K27.
The decision continues the franchise's recent trend of featuring international stars on its cover. Last year, the honor went to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder, while Luka Dončić — now playing for the Los Angeles Lakers — appeared on the cover of NBA 2K22.
The developers' choice is backed by the French forward's outstanding performances, as he has quickly established himself as one of the league's most impactful players. During his first NBA playoff appearance, Wembanyama averaged 23.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game, while shooting 51.0% from the field.
A key factor in his rise was his performance in the Western Conference Finals, where the Spurs faced the Oklahoma City Thunder.
As a reminder, Until Dawn 2 has been officially announced and is scheduled for release in 2027.
