Wildcard and M80 advanced to the tournament final without playing a single map

The Counter-Strike 2 esports pro scene continues to deliver bizarre situations. This time, the spotlight is on the Thunderpick World Championship 2026 North America with a $15,000 prize pool, where M80 became champions after effectively playing just one match instead of the required three. The reason was forfeits from their opponents, who were unable to field full lineups for their matches. What makes it even stranger is that Incognito, Zomblers, FarmVille, and Aether had already managed to play matches in the same tournament.

As a result, only two matches were played during the tournament’s playoff stage: one quarterfinal between Zomblers and InControl, and the Grand Final between M80 and Wildcard.
