Wildlight Entertainment, which recently released Highguard, has begun mass layoffs just 17 days after the game’s launch. This was reported by one of the developers, who noted that the cuts affected “the majority of the team.”

The studio later confirmed the dismissal of a number of employees. At the same time, it stated that a “core group” would continue supporting Highguard.

Highguard was released on January 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. At its peak, the game reached 97,249 players, but the average concurrent player count later dropped to fewer than 5,000. The game currently has mixed reviews.

As a reminder, Team Vitality have signed a Russian PUBG roster.
