Yesterday, Microsoft held its Xbox Games Showcase, featuring a wide range of upcoming first-party titles alongside major announcements from third-party developers. The biggest highlights of the event included new entries in the Gears of War, Halo, Fable, Metro 2039, and Call of Duty franchises.
The next installment in the iconic series, Gears of War: E-Day, received a new trailer featuring the first gameplay footage. The game will officially launch as a console exclusive within the Xbox ecosystem on October 6. A special collector’s edition featuring a detailed statue will also be available.
The highly anticipated RPG Fable returned with a brand-new trailer, starring actress Hayley Atwell. The game is scheduled for release in February. Like Gears of War: E-Day, it will also receive a limited collector’s edition.
Halo Campaign Evolved was featured with an extensive gameplay trailer. The new chapter will explore events that take place “one year before the Ring appeared.” The game launches this July on Xbox, Steam, and PlayStation consoles. A collector’s edition complete with a statue has also been announced.
The A Plague Tale universe is expanding. Developers officially unveiled Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy during the showcase. The game is scheduled for release this August.
Fans of Japanese RPGs received exciting news as Persona 4 Revival was officially confirmed. The remake is set to launch on February 18, 2027.
After a long period of silence, Undead Labs finally revealed a brand-new gameplay trailer for State of Decay 3, showcasing the upcoming zombie survival experience.
Sea of Thieves continues to receive post-launch support. Developers announced a new content update titled Custom Seas, which will become available on June 18.

Sega officially confirmed the return of its legendary arcade franchise. The first full trailer for Crazy Taxi: World Tour showcased gameplay and revealed a 2027 release window.
Microsoft announced a limited-edition Xbox Series X console and Xbox Elite Series 2 controller in the brand’s signature green color scheme. Both products are scheduled for release in November.
The showcase also featured the official reveal of Minecraft Dungeons 2, a direct sequel to the popular co-op action RPG. The game launches on September 29.
