Big Walk, the cooperative adventure game from Australian studio House House, best known for Untitled Goose Game, has enjoyed a remarkably strong launch and has now passed the 1 million copies sold mark.
Publisher Panic announced that Big Walk reached the milestone just one week after its release. The achievement is particularly significant for House House, as its previous breakout hit Untitled Goose Game needed around three months to reach 1 million copies sold.
Big Walk's performance is even more impressive considering that the game is currently available at no additional cost to PlayStation Plus subscribers as one of the month's free games. This means many PlayStation players do not need to purchase it separately. The game is also available on Nintendo Switch 2.
However, Big Walk has not managed to claim the fastest million selling milestone among the biggest indie releases of 2026. Meccha Chameleon sold 1 million copies in just four days, although it is a PC exclusive. Mewgenics reached the same figure in eight days and is also exclusive to PC. Mina the Hollower took 11 days to sell 500,000 copies across all major platforms.
That makes Big Walk's performance highly impressive, even if it has not reached the extraordinary heights of Meccha Chameleon.
The game's strong sales are not entirely surprising, as reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. At the same time, its success highlights just how popular cooperative games have become. Big Walk is designed exclusively around co-op play and does not feature matchmaking, yet that has not stopped it from attracting a million buyers.
Big Walk may not be "friendslop", but it has arrived at a time when free-form cooperative games are very much in demand.
