The Brazilian organization Keyd Stars has officially announced the closure of its Counter-Strike 2 division. The club published the corresponding announcement on its X social media page.
The main reason for this decision stems from fundamental changes in the commercial model of esports related to gambling regulation. Recently, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced a total ban on online betting within the country. It is expected that the websites of all betting companies will be officially blocked as early as October 5.
In its statement, the management of Keyd Stars noted that over the past year and a half, the club had actively invested in the development of the professional CS2 scene. However, new financial realities forced the organization to reconsider its strategy, suspend the operations of the CS division, and focus on exploring new opportunities. The club sincerely thanked the players, coaches, and staff for their significant contribution to the development of the brand.
The organization has a long history in the discipline: its first Counter-Strike roster was assembled back in 2015 under the leadership of captain Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo. After temporarily suspending operations in 2021, the club returned to the game last year. Its best result since returning was a victory at the CCT Season 3 South American Series #9 tournament.

Following the closure of the division, the final Keyd Stars roster will become free agents:
