The developers of Diablo 4 have released a launch trailer for the major expansion Lord of Hatred, highlighting its key features and upcoming content.

Among the main changes:

  • A full new story campaign focused on the conflict with Mephisto
  • A new region called Skovos, once the land of the Firstborn and home to Lilith and Inarius, now ruled by the oracle queen and leader of the Amazons
  • Two new classes, the Paladin and the Warlock
  • New items, including a crafting system
  • Updated abilities for all existing classes
  • New endgame content

Overall, critics have responded positively to the expansion. Reviewers note that Blizzard Entertainment managed to deliver a confident and coherent conclusion to the storyline. The Warlock received particular praise for its mechanics and narrative. At the same time, the Paladin drew mixed reactions, with some considering it too familiar and lacking fresh ideas.

At the moment, Lord of Hatred holds an average score of 83 out of 100 on Metacritic and OpenCritic.

Critic scores:

  • Game Rant 90 out of 100
  • INVEN 87 out of 100
  • Forbes 85 out of 100
  • Gamekult 80 out of 100
  • ComicBook 70 out of 100
  • Stevivor 65 out of 100
