The reigning three-time League of Legends world champions, the T1 organization, are stepping into the music industry. Together with Spotify Korea, they have announced T1 STARS — a K-Pop-style project featuring five players from the current roster: Doran, Oner, Faker, Peyz, and Keria.
Preparations for the debut began on August 4, when Spotify Korea released concept photos of the esports athletes. The players appeared in outfits inspired by popular K-Pop groups (such as BTS and Stray Kids): wearing leather jackets, chunky jewelry, and musical accessories.
To promote the project on YouTube, a special mockumentary-style promo video was released, showcasing the team's preparations for the stage. The team's jungler, Oner, further fueled audience interest by sharing behind-the-scenes photos on his Instagram.
The release of the debut singles by T1 STARS, exclusively on Spotify, is scheduled for August 10 at 10:00 AM CET.
Three hours before the music release, a documentary film will premiere, and the following day, August 11, an interview dedicated to the opening of the debut T1 STARS pop-up will be released. Currently, the song titles remain a secret, as does information regarding the availability of official music videos.
The newly formed boy band will hold their first live performance on August 14 during the opening of T1 Home Ground — a three-day LCK Roadshow taking place at the KSPO Dome arena in Seoul.
The players will perform their tracks before their match against Dplus KIA. The event, which combines official LCK games with concerts and fan activities, sold out weeks in advance. Throughout all three days of the event (August 14 to 16), a special T1 STARS pop-up will also be open for fans.
The T1 STARS project marks another stage in the partnership between T1 and Spotify, which began back in June 2025. The streaming platform has become a key partner for the team's offline events, actively bringing Korean artists into the esports space.
Besides the performance by the players themselves, the lineup for T1 Home Ground will feature professional musicians: members of the group SEVENTEEN (Boo Seungkwan and Lee Dokyeom), hip-hop duo Dynamicduo, and K-Pop group FIFTY FIFTY. A member of the latter, Athena, was recently appointed as the official ambassador for the T1 VALORANT team.
