The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has announced an expanded multi-division partnership with Sony Group for the upcoming Esports World Cup 2026 (EWC 2026), which will take place in Paris, France.

The new agreement builds on the collaboration established during EWC 2025. Under the expanded partnership, multiple technology and entertainment divisions of the Sony conglomerate will be integrated throughout the seven-week esports festival.

The partnership includes Sony Interactive Entertainment, Crunchyroll, and Sony Pictures Television. As part of the agreement, PlayStation consoles have been designated as the official competition platform for the tournament's supported console titles. The hardware will also be used in public fan zones across the event venue.

The media component of the partnership will see the return of the behind-the-scenes documentary series "Esports World Cup: Level Up," which follows teams and professional players throughout the competition. The series will once again be produced by This Machine, a division of Sony Pictures Television.

As a reminder, Ukraine's eFootball Console national team recently concluded its Nations League Week 3 campaign after being eliminated in the second round of the lower bracket.
