Following the 7th General Assembly of the European Esports Federation (EEF), held in Skopje (North Macedonia), Goran Kuzmić has become the new president of the organization. The event, hosted for the first time by the Macedonian Esports Federation, gathered delegates from 27 member countries alongside the recently elected President of the International Esports Federation (IESF), Vlad Marinescu.
Goran Kuzmić secured the victory with 55% of the vote. He defeated his opponent Chester King, President of British Esports, who had previously been serving as Acting President of the European body. Also during the meeting, delegates formally approved the organization's 2025 financial and operational reports, and Otto Takala from Finland was elected as a new member of the EEF Board (with 14 votes).
Following the elections, the EEF Board received an official mandate to develop and implement long-term strategic plans — EEF Vision 2030 and Vision 2035. These initiatives aim to:
The new EEF President brings significant regional governance experience to the role. Kuzmić serves as President of the Esports Federation of Republika Srpska, Secretary General of the Esports Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and CEO of Esports Umbrella. He is also the founder of the eAdriaticLeague — an esports platform in the Western Balkans focused on player contracts, competitive integrity, and the development of grassroots esports.
IESF President Vlad Marinescu emphasized the importance of close cooperation between international and continental structures to build a robust esports ecosystem. This development occurred against the backdrop of a successful IESF restructuring: the global organization officially announced the complete clearance of debts from previous tournament cycles and is currently preparing to host the 2027 World Esports Championship, which will take place in Astana (Kazakhstan).
