Microsoft has confirmed that Halo: Campaign Evolved has officially gone gold, meaning the game's launch version is complete nearly two weeks before its scheduled July 28 release. The development team will continue polishing the game and fixing any remaining bugs before launch.
In a short video, Xbox announced that Halo: Campaign Evolved is officially ready for release. Unlike some other Xbox projects, including Fable, the game will not be delayed to allow for additional development time.
Microsoft also reminded players that those who pre-order the Halo: Campaign Evolved Premium Edition, priced at $69.99 on Xbox, Steam, and the PlayStation Store, will receive early access starting July 23. Players purchasing the standard edition will be able to jump in on the official release date of July 28.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is an Unreal Engine 5 remake of the 2001 classic Halo: Combat Evolved. The updated version will feature modernized visuals along with optional gameplay modifiers that add extra challenge to the campaign.
