Honor of Kings KPL Grand Finals 2026 Kicks Off with $10.5M Prize Pool

The King Pro League Grand Finals 2026, a massive esports tournament for the mobile MOBA Honor of Kings, runs from October 2 to November 14. Featuring 12 of the top Chinese teams—traditionally the strongest region in the game—the tournament boasts a prize pool of nearly $10.5 million.

Tournament Format and Schedule

The month-and-a-half-long event spans four distinct stages:

• Challenge Stage (Oct. 2–18, Guangzhou): A cross-group single round-robin format played in best-of-five (Bo5) matches.
• Play-in Stage (Oct. 20–22, Guangzhou): A single-elimination bracket for six teams fighting for the final three playoff spots.
• Knockout Stage (Oct. 27 – Nov. 8, Changsha): A double-elimination bracket starting from the quarterfinals for the top eight teams, with all matches played in a best-of-seven (Bo7) format.
• Grand Final (Nov. 14, Chengdu): The ultimate championship decider.

Challenge Stage Group Breakdown

The 12 participants are divided into two groups based on their annual KPL circuit points:

• Masters Group: Features the top six teams of the season (Wolves, AG Super Play, JD Gaming, Talent Gaming, Kuaishou Gaming, and Weibo Gaming). Four teams advance directly to the Knockout Stage, while two move to the Play-in Stage.
• Elite Group: Comprises teams ranked 7th through 12th (TOP Esports Armor, EDward Gaming, LGD NBW, Douyu Gaming, Rogue Warriors, and Hero JiuJing). Only the group winner earns a direct playoff spot, four teams go to the Play-in Stage, and the last-place team is eliminated.

Defending KPL Grand Finals champions AG Super Play and recent Honor of Kings World Cup 2026 winners Kuaishou Gaming enter the tournament as the primary trophy contenders.

English broadcasts for the Challenge Stage are available on the official Honor of Kings Global Esports YouTube and Twitch channels.
