IGN has released 12 minutes of gameplay from The Sinking City 2, the upcoming survival horror game developed by Ukrainian studio Frogwares, best known for its Sherlock Holmes detective adventures.

The footage follows protagonist Calvin as he infiltrates an abandoned industrial facility while pursuing the kidnappers of his beloved. Throughout the level, he fights grotesque monsters, interacts with strange creatures blocking certain paths, and collects useful resources.

The gameplay also showcases the Investigation menu, where Calvin pieces together key clues, along with a Resident Evil inspired map that marks fully cleared rooms in blue. Players also get a look at a friendly NPC, a mutated woman who has been chained up.

By the end of the demo, Calvin finally reaches his loved one but is confronted by a massive monster.

The developers also revealed details about an exclusive quest included with the more expensive edition of the game. In that mission, Calvin must help a mysterious man escape from his estate, with the quest expected to take around two hours to complete.

The Sinking City 2 launches on August 18 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre orders are already available across all platforms..

As a Reminder, Sony announces August PlayStation Plus Monthly Games.
