According to Nate The Hate, later confirmed by VGC, Nintendo is planning to release a remake of The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time in fall 2026. The original 1998 title is not only considered one of the best entries in the series but still holds the record as the highest rated game in Metacritic history.

The remake is expected to serve as a flagship holiday release, boosting Switch 2 sales and renewing interest in The Legend of Zelda franchise.
Additionally, 2026 may see the return of the Star Fox series with a new installment. This is hinted at by the appearance of the franchise’s main character in the upcoming animated film Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which is set to premiere on April 1. The game could be announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation, although the next show is only expected in June.
As for 2027, Nintendo is reportedly preparing a new flagship 3D platformer in the Super Mario series. It would become the first major release of its kind since Super Mario Odyssey launched in 2017.
