Only a few days remain until the release of the spy action game 007 First Light, which is already being called one of the most promising James Bond games ever made.
As usually happens with major releases, some creators ignored the review embargo and began uploading gameplay clips and even full playthroughs online after receiving early copies of the game. To keep players from experiencing the title through leaks, IO Interactive released an official gameplay video showcasing the first 13 minutes of the game running with the day-one patch.
The opening mission, titled Against the Odds, introduces a 26-year-old James Bond serving in a British Army special forces unit near the coast of Iceland. After a helicopter crash, Bond discovers that a dangerous criminal group has taken valuable hostages. During the operation, MI6 agents contact him, assist with the mission, and eventually invite the talented young soldier to join the secret service.
007 First Light blends stealth gameplay with hand-to-hand combat, gunfights, and high-speed chases. Linear story missions are mixed with larger open areas that offer players more freedom in how they approach objectives.
007 First Light launches on May 27 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
